In 1980 I wanted to get a dual neck Pedal Steel. I was broke. So I settled on a lap steel – an 8’string Fender from the late 40’s. I’ve owned it ever since. It has the right amount of ‘nock about’ in the finish. The pots work, all electrics work and the pickup is THE sound I wanted to use as my C6 neck. (I used to sit it on the top of the strings on my MSA 10 String Pedal Steel. It’s a ‘steal’. The pictures are at the link, below the picture.
